'Yes, it's the esoteric world of too-clever, self-referential indie-pop, but hey, you can dance to it too ... Tullycraft kick[s] some twee ass.' -- Pitchfork

'Tullycraft has never been shy about being a twee pop band, and while they still are quite twee, this is the first record that sounds like it was made by grown-ups. Growing up but not growing old is a neat trick to pull off, and Tullycraft have just about got it down.' -- All Music Guide

'Decidedly extroverted, Seattle's Tullycraft took a punk approach to its indie-pop aesthetic ... like a group of kids covering the Violent Femmes.' -- Magnet

Tullycraft is known for writing indie pop anthems. Over the years, the band has penned a handful of songs that practically define the twee movement in America. It would be a safe statement to say that the new album, Every Scene Needs a Center, picks up where the band's fourth album, Disenchanted Hearts Unite, left off, but that would also be selling Tullycraft short. This new album, recorded entirely on analog tape, is not simply a collection of wonderfully snarky pop songs with one or two anthems thrown in, but is an entire record of ultra-catchy, smart indie pop anthems that takes aim at vampires, the English class system, goth waitresses, and much more. This time around, Tullycraft may have actually crafted a twee masterpiece.
